The intent of this blog is to showcase my better pictures. That's it, that's my only agenda.

Comments are always welcome. The more I know about my audiences tastes, the better chance I have of showing "good" pictures. Please leave a name, you know how frustrating all these anonymous users are, just want a way to tell you apart.

If anyone see's an image they want to use, go ahead. If you want to use it for commercial purposes I will gladly accept payment.

Some picture locations are discussed on my personal blog, but I am not always going to link images to the posts there.

Your humble photographer, Alex O'Donnell

Followers

Another old one. Not the gentleman, but the photo. Taken on my Ricoh when I first got it. Yes, within the first three films I ran through that camera. My mum and I hit the road and went to the end of the Wirral. These coastal defenses are for abatement of longshore drift, not suppression of invading forces. The River Dee was canalized, and as a result, Parkgate silted up, and became 3 miles inland, and New Brighton lost its beach.

Yes, a wordy start for my photo blog, but what can I say? Well, I can just say thank you to all my visitors, and my followers. I am surprised how quickly the page counter is going. I am surprised to have so many followers, and beyond that, how many are people who found me rather then people I went and canvassed. I take it as a compliment, even a silent follower I take it as a compliment of my abilities.

I promise I will maintain this site. I can't promise I'll find more shooting time, but I will try to scan old slides and negatives to add here.

Again thanks

Alex

Color of Palo Alto

When you take a photograph of every house in town, the only way you can display them is to put them on the windows of the town hall.

This was part of the "Color of Palo Alto" project, Palo Alto, CA back in 2007.

These photos were taken with my old ZX-L, then scanned at home on a Nikon Coolscan V. Remind me to trim the borders!

Old Zoo Photos

Okay, both from photo on CD, or maybe even on floppy. The Tiger, obviously tweaked in Adobe Photodeluxe. Both photos Jan 2003, San Francisco Zoo. Since they are B&W I assume they were with the Pentax P-30, and the Ricoh would have been loaded with colour. I think this is before I had the ZXL, but they came out in 2002, so this may have been the newer Pentax, and the Ricoh would have been laying in state.

Cell Phone

Sometimes the only camera you have with you is your cell phone.

Hester St, San Leandro

All three photos were taken within 100' of each other in a 1950's industrial zone.
